Far West Masters thanks all participating ski areas which support ski racing and offer training opportunities and camps for masters competitors. As new training and camps are available, this page will be updated.

Training and Race Camps

Note: The Far West Masters organization does not endorse any specific training program or camp. We make information available here when we are aware of training opportunities that may be of interest to our members. We support all opportunities for participation in masters ski racing!!

Race Camps

  • Mammoth Masters Race Camp - Nov. 27 - Dec. 1, 2004
    Full week program of coaching prior to the season opening races Dec. 2-3. Registration is required. (Note: no daily walkins this year as in the past, though there will likely be general training available in some form on Friday.) The Mon-Fri program will provide 4 hours of training each day, including GS and SL drills, progressions and gate training, and video and timed training runs. Training Programs

  • Alpine Meadows
    Every day (Dec. through Apr.)
  • Auburn Ski Club (Boreal)
    The Masters Racing Training Program is a two tiered system catering to the weekday needs of athletes racing in the Masters Race Series. For $700 a Masters Racer is given the opportunity to train two to three nights per week with a designated professional staff member from the Auburn Ski Club. For only $400 an athlete can train one night per week with the same team and coach. This program includes an unrestricted FULL Boreal Season Pass. The Auburn Ski Club Far West and FIS teams will be training along side of the Masters Racing Training Program. These teams have training available Tuesday through Friday evenings.
    The Masters Racing Training Program schedule will be catered to the greater needs of the athletes between 3pm and 7pm Tuesday through Friday. This training schedule is geared toward allowing adult racers to train during a normal (busy) work week. Click the link to download program registration forms from http://auburnskiclub.org.
  • Big Bear Masters (Snow Summit)
    We train all season long, three days per week: Wed, Friday & Saturday at Snow Summit.
  • Diamond Peak
    Wed-Fri
  • Mammoth Masters Team

  • Mt. Rose
    Training for masters is available 4 days per week (Thu - Sun) with the Mt. Rose Falcon Race Team, from Nov. through late April. Daily signups also available. For details visit the information page (link above) or call 775-849-0704 x221.
  • Northstar
    Masters training weekdays Mon-Fri.
  • Squaw Valley
    Every day (Dec. through Apr.). Generally gate training in the morning and free skiing with coaches in the afternoon. For further information check with the Squaw Valley Race Department at (530) 581-7188,
  • Sugar Bowl Masters Program
    Full-season program, 3-4 training days per week depending on FWM schedule (Wed-Sun). For information contact SBST at 530-426-6771 or by email at admin@sbst.org.
